Who We Are

Empower, Integrate and Develop the community of Zambians

OZA was incorporated in 2016 as a 501(c) public charity organization in the State of Georgia, USA. The organization has since become one of the largest Zambian diaspora initiatives with a membership presence in almost all the 50 states of the United States and across the globe.

 
Since 2016, OZA has carried out activities, programs, and events that support the aspirations of the Zambian community American and abroad. Particularly, OZA has raised funds to help support the repatriation of fallen Zambians back home, held fundraising activities to support the shipment of health equipment and support orphanages. Other activities include advocacy work that resulted in the enshrining of the duo citizenship in the Zambian constitution, good governance, and sustainable development.

 
OZA continues to promote shared interests between Zambia, USA, and other global partners for sustainable economic and social development through collaborative projects and initiatives in education, philanthropy, entrepreneur and business promotion – and social support.

Leadership

OZA is governed by the Executive Committee with the mandate to implement the vision and mission of the organization. The Executive is led by the President with the support from the Secretariat and members of the committee. There is an established General Assembly, a composition of all OZA members headed by the Assembly Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.


The Secretariat coordinates the administration, compliance, and day-to-day operations of the organization. The organ also hosts several programs such as the Membership benefits Program (MBP), the Business and Investments Forum, the Visit Zambia Campaign 20024-2026 initiative.

OZA believes that every Zambian has a right to pursue their dreams, fulfill their life potential, and aspirations. The community is endowed with diverse Zambian cultures and traditions, that when shared, can benefit host communities around the World. In OZA’s strategic view, this will ensure a positive global perspective of Zambia and its people.

OZA vision is carefully stated to represent the aspirations of Zambians living abroad. The Zambian community recognizes that integration into host communities and contributing positively to the local areas of resident is fundamental to achieving the “the Zambian dream.” Integration is necessary for acquiring accommodation, education, and work. OZA recognizes that in order for the community to thrive, its members must be engaged in productive activities.
