ALAZ, OZA HOST CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON
In a collaborative effort to honor the festive season, the Army Ladies Association of Zambia (ALAZ), in partnership with the Organisation for Zambians Living Abroad (OZA), successfully hosted a Christmas luncheon today at Army Headquarters.
The event provided a festive celebration for 117 vulnerable children from Twaasuka Community School, located in Lusaka’s John Laing Compound. The children enjoyed a scrumptious meal and a vibrant atmosphere of music and dance alongside members of the Association.
During the event, ALAZ Patron Mrs. Gina Zyeele expressed the Association’s joy in hosting the children, noting that the initiative was designed to ignite a spirit of love and community service. Addressing the students directly, Mrs. Zyeele encouraged them to prioritize their studies, describing education as a powerful “equaliser” capable of transforming the lives and destinies of young people.
OZA Secretary General Mr. Masheke Akashambatwa commended ALAZ for their efficient organization of the luncheon. He noted that OZA was proud to support the feeding programme, stating:
“You have done an amazing job today. This marks the beginning of a fruitful and ongoing partnership between ALAZ and OZA.”
Mrs. Lilian Chikoti, Director of Twaasuka Community School, extended her heartfelt gratitude to both organizations for bringing joy to the students. Established in 2021, Twaasuka Community School currently provides primary education to over 200 vulnerable children through the vital support of various stakeholders.
